How to set up the Cradle HubSpot integration
Setup runs through HubSpot OAuth — no API keys to copy across, no credentials to manage. About five minutes from start to first synced contact.
- Set up your Cradle account. The fastest path is to book a 30-minute call so we can provision your number, users and basic routing while we're on the line. If you'd rather self-serve, the 7-day trial is at cradle.io/get-started.
- Open Cradle Admin. Go to admin.cradle.io and sign in with your Cradle credentials.
- Add the HubSpot integration.From the admin sidebar, choose Integrations, then click "Add integration" and pick HubSpot. Cradle redirects you to HubSpot's OAuth screen.
- Authorise Cradle in HubSpot.Sign in to HubSpot if you aren't already, then approve the permissions Cradle requests (read contacts and companies, write engagements). Click "Connect app".
- Choose your HubSpot portal. If you administer multiple HubSpot portals, pick the one your team uses for calling. Cradle starts syncing the contact list automatically — usually under a minute for portals up to ~10,000 contacts, up to ten minutes for larger.
You're done. Inbound calls will start showing HubSpot contact context immediately, and outbound calls will start writing engagements the next time someone makes a call. Cradle re-syncs the contact list daily after that.
Cradle vs HubSpot Calling vs generic VoIP
HubSpot's built-in calling is fine for light-touch outbound on US numbers from the browser. Generic VoIPs (3CX, RingCentral, MS Teams Phone, 8x8) can carry the calls but don't talk to HubSpot at all. Cradle is the cloud phone system that actually integrates with HubSpot end-to-end and works reliably outside North America.
