How to get set up

To get set up, you need to head to the admin portal and select Integrations from the left-hand menu. Once there, you can connect XPM to Cradle.

  1. Click Connect to XPM
  2. Sign into Xero, and choose your XPM Practice Organisation (you can only connect one at this point in time).
  3. Click Allow Access.
  4. Xero will redirect you back to Cradle, and your integration will now be set up.

You will need to be an administrator in Cradle and have appropriate permissions in XPM.

Note

You need to be granted access to XPM within Cradle, so if connecting to XPM isn't an option, please reach out to our support team using the chat on this page.

Logging calls as timesheets

Cradle can log each answered call as a time entry against an XPM job, so your team's phone time is captured without anyone typing it in. An administrator turns this on and sets it up in the admin portal, under the XPM integration's call timesheet settings.

The main settings are:

  • Job templates set which job types Cradle books time against, in priority order. Cradle uses the first template that has an open job for the client, and creates a job if none exists.
  • Task is the task each time entry sits under.
  • Minimum call length stops short calls booking time. Missed calls never book time.
  • Padding and** round up to** add a set number of minutes to each call and round the total up to the nearest block.
  • Timezone sets the timezone used for the date a call is booked against, so an early call is dated correctly for your region.
  • Default client for internal work is where a call is booked when it doesn't match a client (for example internal calls or unrecognised numbers). Type the client name exactly as it appears in XPM. Leave it blank to leave those calls unlogged.
