Wrap-up time
A short window after a call ends where Cradle won't send you a new call, so you can finish notes before the next one rings.
Wrap-up time is a short window after a call ends where Cradle holds new calls back, giving you a moment to finish notes, log the call, or just breathe before the next one rings. It's a per-user setting you control yourself from the Cradle desktop app.
How it works
When you hang up a Cradle call, the desktop app drops into a Wrapping Up screen showing a countdown of your remaining wrap-up time. During this window:
- Cradle won't send you any new incoming calls.
- Your teammates see your presence as On a call with a counting-down timer alongside it, so they can see exactly how long until you're free again.
- You can stay on the Wrapping Up screen until the timer runs out, or click Finish wrapping up to dismiss it early and go back to Available right away.
When the timer hits zero, Cradle puts you back into your previous presence state automatically (usually Available).
By default, wrap-up time is set to 0 minutes (off). Set a value to turn it on.
Setting your wrap-up time
- Open the Cradle desktop app.
- Go to the settings screen.
- Find Set my wrap up time after a call to: in the presence panel.
- Pick 0 MIN, 1 MIN, 2 MIN, 3 MIN, or 5 MIN.
0 MIN turns wrap-up off, so calls can ring you straight away after one ends.
The setting is saved against your Cradle account, so it follows you to any computer you sign in on.
What you should see
- After your next call ends, the in-call screen is replaced by a Wrapping Up screen with a timer.
- A Finish wrapping up button at the bottom lets you end the window early.
- New calls won't ring through to you until the timer ends or you dismiss it.
- Teammates looking at the team screen see your presence as On a call with the countdown next to it.
A few things to know
- Wrap-up applies to your account, not your group. Every person on your team sets their own wrap-up time.
- Wrap-up doesn't change how a caller is handled. A new caller still reaches whoever else in your group is available; you're just not in the rotation for the wrap-up window.
- Quitting Cradle ends wrap-up. If you close the app during the wrap-up window, the timer goes with it.
